AK Bars' owners from the Russian league is likely to offer Canadiens' Andrei Kostitsyn a 4M per year contract to join the Russian team.

According to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, the offer that could be made to the senior Kostitsyn, was subject to numerous discussions during the last under 18-years-old world hockey championship that took place in April in the city of Kazan.

Kostitsyn is becoming RFA (Restricted Free Agent) at the conclusion of the current season. This year, he earns a salary of $612,000.

The wealthy AK Bars' owners also control professional basketball teams, volleyball teams as well as a luxurious sports complex. This sports complex includes an arena and a volleyball court that can hold 8000 spectators.

The players are also greatly spoiled by the owners for having 36 country houses to their disposition.

All Habs fans hope Andrei (Kostitsyn) will decline the offer to remain a Montreal Canadien.

I heard about it too, this is the icing on the cake. I hope the Habs will do whatever they can to keep him there.
his wife and daughter are living there, that is no good for us. and then, if the deal is made, don't tell me the little bro will come along!

wow...$4 million, eh? that's a lot for a youngster like Andrei. he's had a great year in Montreal and i think he'd rather play in the best league, in a great hockey city, with his brother...

Yeah, I guess the family thing is a legitimate excuse to sign there, but really, what more can you ask for?
He won't get $4 mil, but he is in line for a healthy raise, and like Navin said, he skates on a line in the NHL, in front of some of hockey's most passionate fans, and lines up alongside his brother night after night

We knew Gainey needed to draft Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf in 2003 when we had two picks ahead of Anaheim, now we may have nothing. Bob, you are doing a terrible job as GM, just look at how good Dallas is since you left. Robidas and Riberio will send you postcards from the FINALS.

How much will Gainey offer Andrei Kostitsyn to stay in Montreal? Then again maybe he doesn't care as much for the money and rather play in the NHL.
