Karim Benzema is the latest addition to Real Madrid's offensive arsenal as it has been confirmed by his former club Olympique Lyonnais.

He officially becomes a Madrid player for a mere 35 million euros but that could go as high as 41 million due to performance based clauses.

Considering the prices of players these days that is a steal and at only 21 there is surely more to come from him as he is touted as one of the young best strikers in the world.

After unveiling Kaka yesterday in front of 50,000, fans (Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea football club, has a capacity of 42,055) so you can imagine the atmosphere.

El presidente Florentino Perez promised that another signing will be completed within the next 48 hours.

I am sure no-one expected it to be Benzema as we all thought he was headed to Old Trafford (sorry Fergie) but as usual Perez never fails to deliver—I hope Calderon is watching.

Now it all remains to be seen who he will partner upfront—the unsung hero Gonzalo Higuain or the legendary El captain Raul.

Benzema is a Madridista.
