Blackhawks Pull a Coup!!

DETROIT - JUNE 06: Goaltender Mathieu Garon #32 of the Pittsburgh Penguins yells at Marian Hossa #81 of the Detroit Red Wings after Hossa was penalized for obstruction of the goaltender during Game Five of the 2009 NHL Stanley Cup Finals at Joe Louis Arena on June 6, 2009 in Detroit, Michigan. The Chicago Blackhawks have pulled a fast one on the rest of the NHL.  They signed Marian Hossa to a 12-year deal worth a reported $5m per year.  This comes as surprise to everyone in Chicago, as fans were fully expecting the Blackhawks to fight for Martin Havlat, one of the leaders during the 08-09 year.  Havlat was asking for more money than the Hawks signed Hossa for, so the Blackhawks made out like two chicks in a Ron Jeremy film (awesomeness).  Hossa was viewed as the top free agent of 2009, having scored 40+ goals each of the last two seasons.  He couldn't win the Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh or Detroit, hopefully he'll win it with Chicago.  I feel this signing places the Blackhawks as the best team in the Western Conference.
