Thierry Henry Has Perfect Answer to Robbie Savage on World Cup Commentary

Mark PattersonUK Staff WriterDecember 8, 2016

Thierry Henry has been one of the more intriguing additions to the BBC's punditry ranks during the World Cup, and his put-down of fellow analyst Robbie Savage might be his best moment yet.

Savage was explaining the importance of making life difficult for top players by denying them time and space, suggesting his Leicester side had done that against Henry's Arsenal in days gone by.

"We managed," the Frenchman responded—and he was right, according to Football 365's Mediawatch column:

Given that the aggregate score between the two teams during Savage's time at Leicester was 29-8 in Arsenal's favour, we'd definitely say Arsenal 'managed'.

There's nothing like a joke at Savage's expense to up your popularity—perhaps Phil Neville should try it when he next returns to commentary.
