LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 07: Marcin Gortat #13 of the Orlando Magic and Lamar Odom #7 of the Los Angeles Lakers battle for position in the first quarter of Game Two of the 2009 NBA Finals at Staples Center on June 7, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. Welcome to the new wave of NBA free agency.

Late Tuesday night, when the clock hit 12:01 a.m. Eastern time, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey listed the following on his Twitter:

"Meeting in a few w/ (Marcin) Gortat.Send a note to him NOW at rocketsfanslovegortat@gmail.com .He will receive.Show him how much we want him in Red!"

He tweeted from the front door of Gortat's Orlando home.

Gortat, the backup Orlando center who got attention after helping the Magic reach the NBA Finals, seems to be one of Houston's top free-agent targets, with Ron Artest as the other. Gortat is a restricted free agent, meaning that the Magic can counter any offer Morey can pitch.
