Wild Heading Into Free Agency; Gaborik Probably Will Not Return

The Minnesota Wild has some holes to fill as it prepares for free agency.
Free agency begins at 11 am central Wednesday and the team's all-time leading goal scorer has not been resigned.
According to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Marian Gaborik's agent Ron Salcer and Wild GM Chuck Fletcher talked in length today and it went nowhere.
The Wild will do just fine without Gaborik. Yes, he is an incredibly talented scorer, but his inability to stay healthy or carry a team is not worth eight million dollars per season. He turned down a contract worth that much early last season.
The Wild will need a center, probably Saku Koivu, a top line wing, maybe Martin Havlat, and a defenseman or two, possibly Rob Scuderi or Francois Beauchemin.
