Can anybody even come close to Martin Kaymer in the final two rounds of the U.S. Open?

It doesn’t look like it.

Kaymer has simply dominated the first 36 holes of the national championship, shooting back-to-back rounds of 65.

The stellar German golfer has a six-stroke lead over Brendon Todd, who fired a second round score of 67 on the heels of his opening 69.

Kaymer has driven the ball extremely well and he has been sinking long putts. That’s a formula for winning this tournament that has been successful for many years.

Kaymer’s performance is reminiscent of Tiger Woods’ classic U.S. Open victory at Pebble Beach in 2000. That was a runaway 15-stroke victory for Tiger, and unless Kaymer starts to slow down, this year’s tournament at Pinehurst No. 2 could also be another one-sided tournament.
