Two weeks ago at Takeover, NXT champion Adrian Neville defeated Tyson Kidd in a hard-fought main event. This week, the champion and his top contender did battle in a rematch. For the second time in three weeks, they delivered a phenomenal contest with the top prize on the line.

How would the outcome of that match affect Kidd's relationship with wife Natalya? Would it cause further dissension or bring the lovely couple closer together?

Sami Zayn returned to NXT this week as he went one-on-one with the mysterious Mr. NXT, a masked Superstar of unknown origin. Would Zayn recover from his loss to Tyler Breeze at Takeover or extend the losing streak to 0-2?

The NXT Divas were in action this week as Paige, Emma and Bayley took on the BFFs. With Summer Rae's return causing obvious resentment between she and the new Women's champion Charlotte, would the trio be able to coexist or would their egos get between them and a victory?

The June 12 episode of NXT would answer all of those questions and more.

Relive the greatest moments and check out the report card from this week's show.

Paige, Bayley and Emma vs. Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Summer Rae

1 of 4

One week after Paige and Emma came to the aid of Bayley, preventing a three-on-one beatdown by the BFFs, the Divas of NXT did battle in a huge six-woman tag match.

Charlotte got cocky early and paid for it with a hard slap from Emma. The Women's champion responded accordingly, and the BFFs took control of the bout heading into the first break of the evening.

The heels continued to work over Emma as we returned from the break. Charlotte, Summer and Sasha cycled into the match as they worked over the Australian Diva.

The crowd came alive, trying to will the leader of the Emmalution back into the match, but the BFFs continued to dominate, despite showing signs of dissension.

Emma finally made the hot tag to Bayley, who exploded into the ring and took the fight directly to champion Charlotte. The action broke down as Paige, Summer Rae and Sasha Banks were sent to the arena floor.

With Charlotte distracted, Bayley scored a rollup for the victory.

After the match, Charlotte and Summer Rae fought at ringside.

    Highlights and Quotes

"It just makes me so happy to see Paige come back to NXT as the Divas champion. It just says so much about NXT." —Renee Young

"I haven't been this excited since Motley Crue got back together." —Alex Riley, in reference to the return of the BFFs

"Charlotte's body blows my mind." —Renee, echoing the thoughts of most male members of the WWE Universe

    Analysis

A good way to kick off the broadcast as the Divas division was spotlighted. Two stories dominated the match. The first was the growing dissension within the BFFs, and the second was Bayley's journey to championship contention.

With her victory over Charlotte via pinfall, Bayley becomes next in line to challenge for the title. Whether Charlotte can overcome the infighting among the BFFs to successfully retain the title is the question.

Colin Cassady vs. Sylvester Lefort

The nearly seven-foot-tall Colin Cassady returned to NXT for the first time in nearly a month as he met the very...oily Sylvester Lefort.

Lefort took the fight to Big Cass in an attempt to turn his luck around and end his recent losing streak. Cassady fought back, using his size and strength to his advantage. The hits were hard, with the sound of his forearms striking Lefort's back echoing throughout the NXT Arena.

The East River Crossing mercifully ended Lefort's suffering in short order.

After the match, a feud between Big Cass and Marcus Louis was teased.

    Highlights and Quotes

"Renee, you and me could never get along. I like Tim Tebow." —Alex Riley, revisiting a heated argument the commentators had a few weeks back

    Analysis

Colin Cassady was absolutely dominant as he tore through Sylvester Lefort. Marcus Louis, who was outside the ring with his Legionnaires tag partner, brought nothing to the match.

A potential feud between he and Big Cass was teased after the bell but it would be better served as the first tag team program for Enzo Amore when he returns to the ring.

After all, the prospects of a feud between Cassady and a green Louis are not promising.

Sami Zayn vs. "Mr. NXT"

3 of 4

Earlier in the broadcast, JBL signed the mysterious Mr. NXT to a contract. In his first match, he took on Zayn as the crowd erupted in "Bo Leave" chants.

Mr. NXT dominated the action early as commentators Renee Young and Alex Riley argued over whether or not it was really Bo Dallas under the white mask.

Zayn mounted a comeback and ripped the mask off of Mr. NXT, revealing that it was in fact Bo.

A Helluva Kick finished Bo off for Zayn.

After the match, Zayn sent police officers to the ring to escort Dallas from the arena. Dallas tried to evade them and succeeded for while. Eventually, he was cornered and detained.

    Result

Sami Zayn, via pinfall, following the Helluva Kick

    Highlights and Quotes

"When does Sami Zayn not have an amazing match?" —Renee Young

"You can't fool us." —The NXT Universe on Bo Dallas obviously filling the Mr. NXT mask

"He's not wearing a mask on his body." —Renee, arguing with Alex Riley about the identity of Mr. NXT

"This is painful to watch." —Renee

"Help me! They're trying to kidnap me." —Dallas

"He touched my bum!" —Dallas, on being physically removed from the arena

    Analysis

The match was a lighthearted affair that played up the stipulation that banned Dallas from NXT. The comedy was outstanding, as was Dallas. The third-generation star was outstanding as he dodged security and channeled his inner Mountie. He was literally dragged kicking and screaming from the arena—a great way to kill time on a show largely devoted to the main event.

That the show is centered around a star who will not be with the brand going forward is the only reason it does not earn the A grade.

Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd

4 of 4

Tyson Kidd looked for redemption as he challenged Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship on this week's broadcast. The Calgary native was accompanied to the ring by Natalya, who almost instantly stole the attention of the commentary team.

Champion and challenger grappled early, but it was Neville who took to the air to gain the advantage.

Kidd was in control as the show returned from break. The challenger showed renewed aggressiveness as he wore down Neville with headlocks and a strong side suplex.

Neville countered Kidd's offense and mounted a comeback. He scored a near-fall but Kidd delivered a vicious kick to the face that stunned the champion. A springboard-flipping leg drop nearly won it for Kidd, but Neville got his foot on the rope just prior to the official counting three.

Natalya informed the official that Neville's foot was on the rope prior to the count.

Kidd locked in the Sharpshooter, but Neville fought through the pain and made it to the ropes, necessitating a break of the hold.

A springboard elbow drop from Kidd nearly won him the title, but the resiliency of the champion was on display as he managed to kick out just prior to the three-count.

A frustrated Kidd tried to use a chair but Natalya grabbed it away from him. A big kick from Neville caught a distracted Kidd, and the Red Arrow finished for the win.

Adrian Neville, via pinfall, following Red Arrow

    Highlights and Quotes

"Natty's husband!" —The NXT Universe in regards to Tyson Kidd

"When you try something once, you eliminate some of that pressure you put on yourself in the first place." —Renee Young

"Adrian Neville just reminds me of Rob Van Dam. His offense can come from anywhere at anytime." —Alex Riley

"That has to creep into your mind at sometime in your career." —Riley on the chants of "Natty's husband" and their effect on Kidd

"How do you regain your composure when you just thought you won the championship?" —Renee

    Grade

    A+

    Analysis

The rematch to Neville and Kidd's Takeover main event was, arguably, better than the original. The action was strong, the wrestling was superb and the finish worked within the context of the story being told.

Natalya's finish involvement made sense and never overwhelmed the work of the men inside the squared circle.

The outcome allows Neville to move on to Tyler Breeze while the drama surrounding Kidd and Natalya appears to be taking center stage. Where that story goes and whether or not another Superstar (perhaps a directionless Sami Zayn) gets involved remains a mystery.

An excellent match and a phenomenal way to end this week's show.
