Either at the hiring of Carrol or of Belichick*, Kraft interviewed a candidate with NFL ties that admitted he holds a grudge and is on TV.
(*Carrol 1997, Belichick 2000 for those playing at home)
Who? What? Sorry it was something Fred Kirsch did not remember.
OK...I would assume that would be a memorable thing. In PFW's defense they tried to get him to name names.
It was not Ditka. It was not Shottenheimer. It was not Gibbs. It was not Marv Levy. It was not Jimmy Johnson. Bill Cowher was working. It was not Sam Wyche. It was not George Seifert
It was not Lombardi or Rockne.
Then they went to commercial and dropped it.
I assume the conversation went one of two ways.
Scenario #1
Kirsch: Guys, I should not have said that, it was in confidence.
Scenario #2
Kirsch: Guys, I'm talking out of my CENSORED.
Oh, the site will not let me upload pictures of the question from DC comics. That short circuited jokes about Kraft preferring Belichick's face.
edit from later: Kirsch responded to my e-mail by saying it was the GM job and the mystery person was Bill Polion. Excuse me, Pooh-lion. (Hey if he can say PatriOTS, fair is fair,)
BTW, I assume Fred was joking.
Note to editors: Don't correct spelling on Pooh-lion, please.
