The World Cup is here, and now that Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, has wished you a wonderful tournament, we can all get down to the action on the pitch.

I wish everyone a wonderful World Cup, played in a spirit of true fraternity.

Francis, who was born in Argentina and is known to be a fan of football, will doubtless be tuning in to catch some of the action himself.

In December, as per the BBC, he met his favourite team, San Lorenzo of Argentina, after they had won the league.

Will he be able to stay neutral during the tournament if there's a Brazil vs. Argentina final?

Where can I comment?
