ESPN just reported that head coach of the Detroit Pistons, Michael Curry, has been fired.
This can't be too surprising when the Pistons gave former coach Flip Saunders a pink slip for losing the Eastern Conference finals three years in a row.
Michael Curry was unable to lead the Pistons to a winning season this year (39-43) and the team was swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs. Perhaps if Curry had not let Richard Hamilton warm the bench for so long and treated Allen Iverson as a secondary weapon like the Boston Celtics did with Stephon Marbury, Curry might have had a better season and another shot this upcoming season.
But we cannot put all of the blame on the coach because he was not out on the court when the Pistons got their you-know-what handed to them by the Cavs.
