The show starts off with Vince McMahon announcing the guest host for the evening: Batista! Batista arrives and announces that three matches will determine Randy Orton’s opponent for Night of Champions: Triple H will face MVP, and The Miz faces John Cena.

Orton comes out and threatens to finish the job on Batista, but the Animal lets him know that if he even looks at him wrong, he’ll fire all three of them. He then announces that Orton will face three of the 15 newly acquired superstars in a three-on-one Gauntlet Match.

Night of Champions Semifinal Match

Triple H vs. MVP

Both men go back and forth until the injured leg of Triple H plays a major role in the match. MVP locks in a Figure Four Leglock that is kept on for a decent period of time. But Triple H manages to fight his way out of submission. MVP goes for the Playmaker, but Triple H counters into the Pedigree to get the victory and advance to the Finals of the tournament.

WWE Unified Tag Team Championships

Edge & Jericho vs. The Colons

Jericho and Primo start the match with Jericho getting caught with a leaping dropkick and a takeover on the outside. Following a double team by the Colons, The Canadian Connection lays on the floor as RAW takes a break. Back on the program, Jericho has complete control over the younger Colon. Edge comes in and continues the assault on Primo. Jericho aims for the running bulldog, but Primo sends him flying, and also manages to tag in his brother Carlito.

Carlito ducks the Lionsault and hits the Back Body Press. After momentarily taking out Edge, Carlito gets caught. Carlito hits the Backstabbe, but Jericho stops the count. On the outside, Primo takes down Jericho, but thanks to some outside interference, Edge delivers a Spear to get the pinfall and retain the Unified Tag Team Championships.

Night of Champions Semifinal Match

The Miz vs. John Cena

Miz starts off with a series of punches and knees to the guts, but Cena fires back with huge takedown. The Miz regains control with a neck wrench, but Cena bounces back with a Fisherman’s Suplex and a quick headlock. Miz gets a cheap shot that allows him to the advantage following a huge headlock. Miz focuses on Cena’s surgically repaired neck with a series of neckbreakers and shots to the head.

Back on the program, Miz has complete control of Cena until Cena starts fighting back. Following a massive clothesline, Miz takes the fight to the corner. Miz counters an Attitude Adjustment into an Electric Chair Drop, but is only able to get a two-count. Cena starts firing back, but Miz counters the STF into a sleeper hold. Cena bounces out of the sleeper and hits a pair of takedowns followed by the Beantown Bomb and the Five-Knuckle Shuffle.

He then nails the Throwback before going up top for the Boston Leg Pie. He locks in the STF and gets the tapout to get the victory and advance to the Finals of the Night of Champions Tournament.

With that, next week’s main event is set: Triple H faces John Cena with the winner facing Randy Orton at Night of Champions for the WWE Championship.

Back on the program, Randy Orton is informed that the Original Million Dollar Man will be next week’s guest host. But before that, we have DIVAS!!!

Four Way Divas Match for match against Divas Champion Maryse at Night of Champions

Kelly Kelly vs. Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Rosa Mendes

As Phoenix and Mendes regain their composure outside, Kelly and James square off in the ring. But both Divas focus their attention on Rosa, which allows Beth to sneak in and drop both women. But Mickie gets control with a Dragon Sleeper, only to have to have Rosa apply a chinlock and Kelly apply a sleeper. Beth continues her dominance until the other three women start trying to get control.

All four women exchange near falls. Beth hits the Glamslam, but Mickie breaks up the pinfall. Mickie delivers a hurracanrana that sends Beth to the outside. She then delivers the Mickie-T to Rosa that sends her to a showdown for the Divas Championship against the arrogant Frenchie, Maryse.

In the back, Big Show makes his way to the ring for his match against United States Champion Kofi Kingston.

Big Show vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi tries to use his legs to get control, but Big Show levels him with a massive clothesline. Big Show has control until Kofi dodges a diving elbow from the WLA. After bringing him down with a dropkick, Kofi delivers the Boom Drop before getting dumped on the outside by Big Show. Big Show continues the punishment on the outside. Kofi counters by shoving Show into the steel post, but the ref reaches a count of 10, forcing him to count both men out.

After the bell, Show is clearly frustrated about the outcome of the match.

Three-on-One Gauntlet Match

Randy Orton vs. Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger & Mark Henry

Orton goes on the assault quickly until Bourne gets an advantage with a series of high flying moves. But Orton gets control once again. Orton goes on a methodical assault, but Bourne bounces back with a standing moonsault. Bourne continues the pressure on an injured Orton with a series of near falls followed by a knee-drop. Bourne goes up top for an Airbourne, but Orton stops him in his tracks with a top-rope RKO.

Jack Swagger makes his way down to face Orton, but the All American just perches on the outside of the ring and forces the ref to count him out. Swagger then grabs the mic and reenters the ring. After saying that he wanted to leave a lasting impression, he shakes Orton’s hands and leaves the ring. The final opponent is… former ECW Champion Mark Henry.

Henry grabs the mic and says that he intends to leave a lasting impression as well. When the bell rings, Henry follows Swagger’s suit and steps out onto the ring apron. As the ref reaches five, Henry stops the count, wags a finger at Orton and steps into the ring. Orton begs for mercy, but Henry just runs him down like a deer in the headlights. Orton counters with a slap, but Henry drops him with a headbutt.

Henry counters an RKO into the World’s Strongest Slam to get the pinfall victory over the WWE Champion! Henry celebrates the victory as Batista looks on with an ear to ear smile on his face as Henry celebrates and RAW goes off the air.
