NFL, Oakland Raiders

Dominic Rhodes of the Oakland Raiders was recently cut from the team, and Lamont Jordan will be next.

Should the Raiders stop there?

Michael Bush comes to mind. If the Raiders cut another RB it will be him. And if they stay with three great unknown running backs, will owner Al Davis want more?

Here's my plan:

Step 1

Trade Jordan and save money for a good wide receiver. Lamont Jordan is not worth his salary, and he wants out!

Step 2

We don't need Michael Bush anymore. He might be good but we have this year's first round pick, Darren McFadden and last year's starter, Justin Fargas.  Keep on saving for a WR! That's our real need.

Step 3

Time for the WR I was talking about. We have already signed Javon Walker. We also have Ronald Curry, but we could have more. I'm not going to say names, but almost any veteran WR could and would help the Raiders.

Raider Nation is hoping for a good season finally, and with these moves I believe one is on the horizon.

  1. What's your malfunction? You want to only have two backs? Fargas runs hard and upright and will encounter many bumps and bruises throughout the season. He won't be an everydown back. Neither will McFadden quite yet.

Now that we only have Fargas and McFadden (in your warped world, not mine) you want to trade McFadden. If you wanted to do that, why would you dump Bush.

    Please stop writing articles!

  2. I have to agree with Jon.

  3. "please stop writing articles"

    Nicely put Jon

But David try "stop smoking trees cause your brain is obviously damaged"

  4. THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE WORST ARTICLES I HAVE READ IN A LONG TIME. IT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL. IF YOU, DAVID, WERE A REAL PART OF THE RAIDER NATION THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT YOU ARE SUGGESTING WOULD JUST BE RIDICULOUS. JUST STAY PLAYING VIDEO GAMES LITTLE GUY AND LET THE GUY WHO NEVER DIES FIGURE IT OUT.

  5. This dude is clueless. Let's cut Jordan and Bush then trade McFadden? I hope you're a Bronco fan. Lay off the meth!

    1. This "plan" is a bad one, but I can't find where he suggests trading McFadden.

  6. why you are an idiot:

    Reason 1

The raiders will see if they can trade Jordan before cutting him. Why not try and get a 6th round pick for him in next year's draft, we are not yet in a rush to get rid of him.

    Reason 2

Michael Bush in my opinion is a young and very talented back. He has good size and speed and I believe that with him we will create one of the most dangerous running attacks in the NFL. I believe he could be our aquivalent to Fred Taylor with McFadden being our Maurice Jones-Drew. This is something that we should incourage because Michael Bush is a guy who is great at getting the hard yards and occasionly breaking for a long one. (Note he was going to be a 1st round pick if it wasnt for his injury.)

    Reason 3

We have enough WR's!! Just signing "any veteran WR" will not solve anything. Jonnie Lee-Higgins has the potential to be a very good reciever; we saw moments of it in the Preseason. We drafted 2 wide recievers and have some others from last years draft.... no more WR unless they are actually really good and not distinctly average...

    Reason 4

If we could have drafted Glenn Dorsey or moved down and probably still got Sederick Ellis then why would we trade away our no. 1 pick for a DT... It's not happening. That is just stupid. Please think about this sort of stuff before you make an article on it.

    1. 100% right on all counts,Rory.

  7. If we wanted a defensive Tackle, we would have taken Dorsey. Where do you come from?? Lane Kiffin and Al Davis were both wanting McFadden, so were a lot of fans. We didn't end up with McFadden because he was the best talent left. We would have moved up to get him if we needed to...

Michael Bush and McFadden together will be amazing... just wait. If anything we will get rid of Fargas before Bush, now that Run DMC is here. (to stay)

  8. The Colts are supposively trying to make a move at Jordan, and so is Seattle.

Chad Johnson to Oakland will be the biggest move in the past five years, when we give Cincy our first round pick of 2009

  9. Where they stand now, I see the Raiders winning 6 games this season. The run defense will be their downfall this season.

  10. Trade McFadden??? Kill yourself!!!

  11. Wow, like the others said...don't ever write another article in your life. I'm pretty sure my 7 year old knows more about the Raiders than you do...and I'm pretty sure SHE can right a better article than this worthless piece of trash.

  12. First of all we are not trying to save money for a reciever. We just gave Walker Moss money to play next year. Second if we wanted a D tackle we would have picked up Dorsey instead of Mcfadden. Third ur stupid.

  13. *off*

  14. *correction of*

  15. Greg kind of hinted at the REAL point of this article. The cutting Michael Bush, cutting Jordan stuff, Save money for a veteran WR.All of it. Everything in this plan adds up to one conclusion. All roads in this guy's plan lead to "Ocho Cinco".That is the point of the entire article.Thats the endgame for all his scenarios. Without naming any names,of course. It's lets do whatever is necessary to bring in Chad Johnson.Because he will fix everything and lead us to glory. Hallelujah brothers!!****NEWSFLASH***** CHAD JOHNSON WILL NOT, I REPEAT NOT BE PLAYING FOR OAKLAND IN 2008!!!
Really, this is a non-issue.Davis isn't going to give up the farm for him which is what Cincinnati will want. We won't give up another 1st rd pick for another primadonna wr. And can't we learn from the Randy Moss debacle? Sure he is a top tier WR, but so was Moss. Johnson would end up being a cancer in the locker room like Porter was.And we lose a few games, and we will, next thing #85 is running his mouth with his gold teef on ESPN about the Raider organization, and how they would be winning if they would only throw the ball to him on every down. Move on from Ocho Cinco already, it's not happening.
