Who ever thought that the series would end like this?

For most of us, even as Red Wings fans, we thought that Colorado would put up more of a fight than they did. But without their "star" (and I use the term lightly) center Peter Forsberg the Avalanche just appeared to roll over and die.

With 3 goals in the first, and 4 goals in the second and finishing with a goal in the third the wings really flexed their offensive muscles. Johan Franzen received his second hat-trick in the series and of his career in the playoffs.

Henrik Zetterberg also contributed 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points. And Pavel Datsyuk had 3 assists. So the big guns definitley showed up in this game tonight.

Chris Osgood also made 29 saves on 31 shots by the Avalanche to record his second series win this playoff year.

The Red Wings will have to wait to see who they will play in the Conference finals after the San Jose Sharks won their game the other night to keep from being swept by the Dallas Stars.
