World Cup fever is taking hold, but there are other issues still floating around in world football.

Arsenal Cleared to Move for Morata
The door has been opened for Arsenal to make a loan move for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, per a report from the Mirror’s Ben Curtis.
Curtis has picked up on quotes from Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has given the green light for the striker to head out on loan.
According to Curtis, Ancelotti said:
The player wants to play more minutes and the club agrees.
If he could find the chance of playing it would be good that he had the chance for a year.
If Morata goes then we'll have to think about signing a similar striker with the same characteristics, a youngster.
Curtis has interpreted this as Real opening the door for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to make a play for the striker.
Gunners in the Mix for Caulker
Arsenal could have a former Tottenham player on their books next season, as Simon Jones of the Mail claims Wenger is keen on Steven Caulker.
Caulker is on the books of Cardiff City, but his position at the club is in doubt following their relegation from the Premier League.
According to Jones, Gunners boss Wenger has “expressed interest” in Caulker, but he could face competition from Swansea, Tottenham, Southampton and Liverpool.
Arsenal and QPR Keen on De Jong
The Arsenal transfer talk continues in The Sun (subscription), as Phil Thomas claims the Gunners are keeping tabs on Nigel de Jong.
Thomas’ piece suggests De Jong is upset by AC Milan’s decision to axe Clarence Seedorf and will seek a summer exit.
Arsenal are in the hunt, according to Thomas, who also claims Queens Park Rangers are keeping tabs on the midfielder’s situation.
City Closing in on Fernando Deal
Manchester City are confident of sealing a deal to sign Fernando from Porto this week, according to the Mirror’s David Anderson.
Anderson claims City have agreed a £12 million deal, which could rise to £16 million, and this will prompt the midfielder to travel to Manchester for a medical and to thrash out personal terms.
Moreno Liverpool Move on the Rocks
Liverpool’s bid to sign Alberto Moreno is on the brink of collapse, writes the Mail’s Simon Jones.
According to Jones, the left-back was tipped to travel to Liverpool for talks and a medical on Monday, but that has been delayed.
Jones claims Moreno’s club Sevilla have put a spanner in the works by demanding a large chunk of the reported £16.2 million transfer fee up front.
Everton Lining Up Ruben Pardo Move
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is considering a bid for Real Sociedad’s Ruben Pardo, according to the Star’s Gary Jones.
Martinez is eyeing up midfield reinforcements; Gareth Barry is still on his radar following his release from Manchester City, and Jones claims Pardo is in the frame.
According to Jones, Everton have made enquiries and are ready to shell out £6m to push through the deal.
Everton to Rival Arsenal for Eto'o
Toffees boss Martinez is also in the hunt for a striker, with the Express’ Anthony Chapman claiming the Merseysiders want Samuel Eto’o.
Eto’o is available on a free transfer following his release from Chelsea.
Chapman states Arsenal are also keen, but he claims the Cameroon forward could also have an offer from Everton to consider.
Van Gaal Considering De Vrij Bid
Louis Van Gaal’s focus is on his work with the Netherlands national side, but the Star’s Gary Jones claims the Dutchman is looking at adding Stefan de Vrij to his Manchester United side.
Van Gaal will take the reins at United following the World Cup, and he has been linked with bids for a raft of players.
De Vrij can now be added to that list, with Jones claiming Van Gaal will look to sign a player who he handed an international debut to.
The centre-half is on the books of Feyenoord, but Jones suggests he could be lured to United to help plug a gap left by the exits of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
