Manny Pacquiao Named Head Coach of Basketball Team in Philippines

Manny Pacquiao has made a name for himself in boxing, but now the Filipino star is looking to give basketball coaching a shot.

On Monday, Pacquiao was officially introduced as the head coach of the Kia Motors expansion team in the Philippine Basketball Association:


Pacquiao has also come up with a name for his team:


It looks like Pacquiao has also started to put together a coaching staff. According to Philstar.com's Dino Maragay, former PBA star Glenn Capacio will serve as the boxer's assistant coach.

Of course, leading an expansion team means Pacquiao must put a lot of work put in. He will have find players in the expansion draft and the league's official draft.

The 2014-2015 PBA season will get underway in October, which means he will need to find a way to balance his new gig with his boxing training. Pacquiao is currently scheduled to fight in November.
