Given everything that has happened during the teams' three-game series this weekend, it may be a good thing that the Oakland Athletics and the Baltimore Orioles only have one more series against each other this season.

With Oakland leading 10-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning, A's pitcher Fernando Abad threw a pitch around Orioles third baseman Manny Machado's ankles. Abad came back inside on the next pitch, which led to Machado "losing control" of the bat.

Both benches and bullpens quickly cleared:

There was some jawing, but no punches were thrown in the incident. Machado and Abad were both ejected.

Of course, this wasn't the first time in the series that Machado had been involved in a benches-clearing incident. On Friday night, the benches cleared after Machado took exception to a tag applied to him by A's third baseman Josh Donaldson:

These two teams will meet in Oakland in the first series after the All-Star break in July.
