Peter Rotondo Sr., co-star of Esquire Network’s reality television show Horseplayers, may spend way too much time at the racetrack, but if he ever gets tired of sending his cash through the betting windows then he may have a future as a race caller.

Rotondo, his son Peter Jr. and Lee Davis make up Team Rotondo, who travel from track to track throughout the television series trying to qualify for the National Handicapping Championship

Rotondo took to the microphone to call the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes well in advance of the 6:52 p.m. (ET) post time at Belmont Park on Saturday, where California Chrome will attempt to make history by becoming the first Triple Crown winner since 1978.

Rotondo says he has picked the Belmont Stakes winner in 20 of the last 45 years. So Peter, who wins?

Too close to call, Peter? Really?

Claire Novak of Blood Horse tracked Peter down at Belmont Park to get his selections for the Belmont Stakes:

California Chrome is currently the 4-5 betting favorite in the latest betting odds for the Belmont Stakes, according to Odds Shark. Peter’s selection, Wicked Strong, is currently the second choice in the betting at 6-1 odds.

The Belmont Stakes will be televised live on NBC with a 6:52 p.m. (ET) post time.
