History will be on the line Saturday evening at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, and you can follow all the action right here.

California Chrome was the runaway winner at both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes earlier this year, but he'll need to show that he can extend himself, successfully navigating Belmont's grueling 1.5-mile track, if he want to capture the first Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978.

Victor Espinoza will be the man charged with steering California Chrome to thoroughbred racing's ultimate prize. Earlier on Saturday, he got the mount on Ever Rider in the 1.5-mile Brooklyn Invitational, finishing fourth, but getting a good feel for the track ahead of the big race.

The track conditions are fast and the weather is beautiful. More than 100,000 fans are jammed into Belmont Park, and they're all there for one reason.

California Chrome's chance at history and immortality.

Post time for the Belmont Stakes is 6:52 p.m. ET.
