Yes, this is just a trailer—but we'd be lying if we said we weren't impressed.

While Madden 25 on Generation-4 gaming consoles was more of a spruced-up version of its Gen-3 little brother, Madden 15 looks set to be the first fully-fledged next-gen entry.

Take a look at this tweet from Operation Sports comparing the San Francisco 49ers' Colin Kaepernick in Madden 25 to his new, fully-tatted likeness in Madden 15:

IzzySnowHD, the NBA Live Gamer of the Year winner, tweeted this, and we concur:

In case you're wondering whether other players will have tattoos included this year, the answer is no.

Samit Sarkar of Polygon cleared up any confusion on this front during his interview with Madden developer Seann Graddy. Per Sarkar, "For now, Kaepernick is the only player who will appear in Madden 15 with his authentic tattoos, because he's the only one who has obtained the permissions from the artists involved."

Even if Kaepernick is the only player with ink, it's hard to imagine having too many gripes with the visual aspect of the game.

As much as we try not to get overly excited by beautiful graphics, everyone should be impressed with these beautiful shots.

As long as eyes are the primary organ used to enjoy video games, graphics will matter.

From the images of Kaepernick to the stylistic feature of Carolina Panthers star Luke Kuechly in the trailer, this game is looking awesome.

During a recent interview with Kuechly, I asked him what it was like to see himself in the game. He said, "It was scary to see just how much it looked like me."

You can watch and listen to the entire interview below.

Defense is a major focus this year, so it's only natural a guy like Kuechly would be featured prominently in the promotion.

Along with the emphasis on defense, the preliminary word is that presentation is going to get a significant overhaul as well.

Finally, there's a pregame and halftime show for gamers like myself who actually dig that sort of thing.

Obviously, there will be more information released about Madden 15 as we approach the August 26 release date.

Stay tuned as more news and media becomes available.
