The International Centre for Sports Studies have released their estimations for European football's most expensive players, and the results are fascinating.
Perhaps most strikingly, Lionel Messi's market value is listed as nearly twice that of Cristiano Ronaldo. The 26-year-old Argentine has an estimated value of €200.2 million to €232.6 million, whereas the 29-year-old Portuguese is estimated to be worth between €105.7 million and €122.9 million.
Also of note, CIES took the trouble of picking Europe's most expensive 4-4-2 based on their projections. In a somewhat surprising revelation, the priciest right-back available was Tottenham's Kyle Walker.
What do you think? How would you change the valuations?
And finally, here is Europe's most expensive XI based purely on transfer fees. Players are numbered in order of cost.
That team looks just a touch attack-minded to us.
