WWE Raw Review: Huge Heel Turn, the Future of Daniel Bryan and More

Raw carried the momentum of WWE Payback and even featured a surprise at the end for good measure. Seth Rollins is now a heel, in all likelihood breaking up The Shield, and with Money in the Bank on the horizon, the post-WrestleMania lull may not last for much longer.

Rusev lulled fans to sleep initially with a series of predictable squash matches, but WWE seems committed to this character. The awards ceremony featuring Russian diplomats was the perfect type of segment to draw heat for a nationalist heel. Hopefully WWE has more creative ideas in mind to build Rusev and Lana as a despicable duo.

Luke Harper and Erick Rowan had to operate as a duo in the absence of Bray Wyatt. Thanks to Harper, who grows on the microphone and in the ring every week, they didn’t miss a beat. The Wyatt-Usos feud should be as physical and entertaining as their several high spots during Payback.

The high point of Raw was the shocking heel turn by Seth Rollins, who now seems to have replaced Batista as Evolution’s third member. What appeared to be The Shield adapting and Evolution perishing has been completely reversed. Evolution gained a new member, and The Shield looks to be no more.
