Indiana Pacers will not pick up the contract of Marquis Daniels, which makes him an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The option was worth 7.5 million for the 2009-10 season. He averaged about 13 points 4 rebounds a game, and Dallas would probably have to only offer part of their MLE to get him. Also he would be a big upgrade over Antoine Wright at sg.

He's not a good outside shooter, but will take it to the hole, which is something dallas lacked to do last year.  If Jason Kidd resigns, i think he Daniels would be play better with Kidd at point.

I don't think signing Daniels make us championship contenders again, but if Dallas can get him for part of the MLE, then that would be a great addition for the Mavericks
