Twitter has revealed the 11 most popular footballers on its micro-blogging site with a World Cup-themed team sheet.

And England has representation, with Wayne Rooney leading the line along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

The team also includes the likes of Juan Mata, David Luiz and Mesut Ozil.

According to Twitter's own blog on the story, there are more than 300 footballers participating at the World Cup who also have Twitter accounts.

It's likely to be a huge source of information and opinion—during the World Cup draw in December last year, there were 1.7 million tweets on the subject in just two hours.
