Yoann Gourcuff: He Is What United and Liverpool Are Looking For!

Andrew WhittakerCorrespondent IJune 28, 2009

Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are just few of the very big clubs in desperate search for a new forward.

Karim Benzema, David Villa and Samuel Eto'o are the biggest names to be linked with these clubs on a daily basis.

However, one talent has not been mentioned in relation to one of the major clubs this summer. The reigning Ligue 1, Player of The Year, Yoann Gurcuff.

After starting his career with Rennes, he joined AC Milan in 2006, where he made his debut against Greek side AEK Athens, scoring a goal in the process. He was also made Man of the Match.

Due to doubt held in his abilities, he was sent on loan with Bordeaux for the 2008/2009 season, and they won the the Ligue 1. He also scored goal of the season against PSG in a 4-0 victory.

In late may 2009, it was revealed that Gourcuff had agreed to a four-year contract with Bordeaux.

This player is of immense talent. He is, by far, the closest I have ever seen to Zinedine Zidane and I would suggest any manager to pursue his services.

Though his recent contract signing would provide difficulties, I hope either Liverpool or Manchester United will try and bring him to England, especially as his fee could be as low as £15mil.

Here is a link of his goal against PSG:
