Last night LeBron James, in my mind the best player in the association, took a "punch" to the face.
After being fouled on the way to the rim by Darius Songaila, LeBron was swiped in the face by Darius. This happened in a series where LeBron is getting hit every time he enters the paint.
In the first four games he was hacked, swatted, and clawed at by whoever wasn't wearing Cavaliers jerseys.

In my opinion if David Stern doesn't find a way to stop LeBron from getting injured for maybe the whole playoffs because someone wanted to get their point across, this and the following series will turn into Triple H Undertaker brawl where anything goes.

there was nothing to enforce. Songalia (sp) did hit LeBron in the face but it was hardly a punch. As for the Wizards play in the series the only play that looked dirty to me was Stevenson's elbow/forarm to the back of the Bron's head (that was a dangerous play and intentional).
I love Bron too. I think the Cavs will still win this series in 6 and will be rooting for them but your acting like anyone who gives a foul on the guy should be suspended and not to get on you but I'm sick of people only talking about who taunted who and who should be suspended after every game. Its a sport sometimes you get hit. Sometimes you even get hurt (I've had sugery on both ankles) but unless someone does something to intential try to hurt someone Mr Stern should sit on his hand and let players decide the games.

Poorly written article. Barely any facts you got across. Kevin was right, I wouldn't have called it a punch. Stern won't do anything because it hard fouls occur in every game, dont just single out LeBron when there are other guys taking tougher hits. And also, you are making LeBron look like a baby, repeating that he will get injured. The guy has played with a broken nose, I think he can play through a slap to the face.

A broken nose isn't painful for what it seems. You can get a mask to wear just ask Rip Hamilton. If LeBron continues to get singled out and attack intentionaly by pro-players what impact will this have on recreational leagues where 2 kids hate each other? Are we going to see 2 kids wailing it out in the gym because they wanted to be like a pro, maybe?

Did you ever watch NBA in the early 90's, 80's, and 70's? They fouled twice as hard as they do now and everyone lived. To stop a player from getting into the paint all the time, you foul them....easy as that. It's much better this year, where they are actually letting the players play, than it was 2 years ago, when Dwayne Wade got a whistle blown for him everytime he touched the damn ball. Mavs got hosed so badly that year, just so the NBA could use the Shaq/Wade combo for endorsements. :(

Not to mention that the Cavs have busted a few people in the series, too. LeBronze threw a blatant elbow right into Andray Blatche's face, and tried to prevent Brendan Haywood from having children (we can debate if that's a good thing later). He may have done it in response to hard fouls he didn't like, but I don't see you worrying about who LeBron might hurt, or what effect his actions will have on kids. If you want to complain, try to remember that LeBron isn't the only guy out there getting fouled.
