It was a weekend of curtain calls in the Northern Hemisphere as Saturday saw Northampton Saints, Leinster and Toulon crowned as champions of the Aviva Premiership, Pro12 and Top 14, respectively.

The European trio overcame some mighty opposition in their season finales, and the entertainment on show was only further enhanced by the quality of the collisions on display.

It's of little surprise that Saints' Courtney Lawes was back up to his old tricks against Saracens, using that considerable frame of his to land a particularly devastating blow on Charlie Hodgson, while team-mate George North also got up close and personal with the opposition.

In France, Juan Smith continued his good run of form promoting that which he does best, and Glasgow Warriors' Tim Swinson managed to get in a consolation hit on Leinster's Zane Kirchner, despite coming out on the end of a losing result.

We also have a more unique contribution from the "friendly" between Japan and Samoa, while the Chiefs' "Big" Ben Tameifuna has the honour of sitting upon our summit this week for finest smash.
