High School Baseball Player's Epic Bat Flip Would Impress Yasiel Puig

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is known for some pretty spectacular bat flips, but this high school baseball player might have him beat.

With the bases loaded and his team down, high school player Hunt Smith crushed a go-ahead grand slam. As he watched the ball sail out of the park, Smith essentially threw his bat halfway down the first base line.

That grand slam was huge, as the go-ahead shot helped Houston County eventually win 8-6 over Whitewater to win the GHSA 5A Georgia state title.

Given the stage and the big home run, a bat flip of that caliber was appropriate.

Puig has had some dramatic bat flips as well. Last Thursday he had a stellar one, leading Vin Scully to call him the maestro of bat flips.
