Saturday Night is Not Brett Gardner's Night

If there was one thing the New York Mets might have planned and succeeded for tonight against the New York Yankees, it would be keeping the fastest man in pinstripes out of the game.

Brett Gardner went 0-for-5 tonight including a strike out at the last inning compared to last night’s 5-for-6 including a solo home run and RBI triple.

Like what speedy Gardner said about his wonderful night at the Citi Field, “Baseball's a game of ups and downs.” Last night was an incredible one for him, but not tonight. “Sometimes you have good nights, and sometimes you fall into a little slump.”

At least the Yankees won again, this time 5-0 against the Mets.
