Bobby Lashley will try to take another step in his pursuit of an MMA career tonight when he faces his toughest opponent yet.

Bob Sapp will be the first "established" fighter Lashley has had to square off against the squared octagon.

Out-weighing Lashley by over 70 pounds, Sapp clearly has the size advantage over the former WWE superstar to go along with the MMA experience.

Sapp has an MMA record of 10-4-1, facing Lashley's 3-0 record in MMA fights.

Lashley was a former Army Ranger and WWE Superstar. He also has amateur wrestling background experience, which makes me him very versatile when it comes to competing in an MMA event.

I fully expect Bobby Lashley to find a way to overcome the size difference against Bob Sapp. If he does not, it will be hard to take him seriously as a real fighter.

You see, Lashley is fighting the same arguments that Brock Lesnar faced. It is hard to take a professional wrestler seriously when they want to compete in a real sport.

What most of the world is failing to recognize is that professional wrestlers are just as much, if not more, of athletes than anyone else. The only difference is, their outcomes are scripted.

Just because the result is determined does not take away from the fact that they still put on a show. That show requires extreme athletic talent.

I dare anyone to try and tell me Kurt Angle isn't a real athlete. Brock Lesnar is putting those claims to rest as we speak.

So, Lashley will attempt to try and silence the critics once more tonight. I do not know if he will be victorious, but I cannot wait to watch.
