Sometimes all it takes is one key free-agent signing to change a divisional playoff race. In 2014, the Milwaukee Brewers, San Fransisco Giants and Oakland A's all made under-the-radar acquisitions that have since boosted them to the top of their respective divisions.

Francisco Rodriguez was a star with the Los Angeles Angels, with his best seasons coming between 2005-08. However, he's fallen off in recent years after bouncing around the league. The Brewers dealt him to the Baltimore Orioles late last summer after they fell out of the running but quietly brought him back by signing him as a free agent this offseason. That decision has paid off so far, as K-Rod is lighting it up for the Brewers in 2014.

Check out Scott Miller break down the best free-agent signings that have changed divisional races in 2014.
