The Yankees got some horrible news Friday finding out that OF Xaiver Nady will miss the remainder of the season and have Tommy John Surgery, again.  Nady also had Tommy John surgery in 2002 when he was with the Padres.  This is crushing news to Nady and also the Yankees.  When Nady was hurt earlier in the season against the Tampa Bay Rays, everyone thought he might be out for the season.

But Nady decided to put off surgery and try to rehab his elbow. All was going fine and was even thinking of returning maybe next week, until he had to take himself out of a Triple AAA game for Scranton/Wilkes Barre with elbow pain.  He is now going to undergo his 2nd Tommy John surgery in his career and miss the remainder of the 2009 season.

Nady was traded along with Damaso Marte from the Pirates last season for Ross Ohlendorf and Jeff Karstens.  Nady was coming off a career year last year with both the Pirates and the Yankees and was looking to have a big year as he becomes a free agent at seasons end.

Will the Yankees go out and get another Corner outfielder? Or will they stick with Nick Swisher as the everyday right fielder? These are among the many questions that the Yankees try and find answers to as the trade deadline approaches.

Why couldn't of the Yankees got Jason Bay instead of Xaiver Nady? JEEZ!
