Mobile BayBears first baseman Jon Griffin was in some kind of zone each time he stepped up to the plate the past couple games.

Griffin had only tallied five home runs and 20 RBI through his first 39 games of the 2014 season, but those numbers received a big boost thanks to an unbelievable hot streak.

Spanning his final four at-bats on Wednesday and his first official at-bat on Thursday (he was walked in his first attempt), Griffin clubbed five consecutive home runs:

According to ESPN.com, the major league record for most consecutive plate appearances with a home run is four.

Griffin knocked in eight runs over the span of his five blasts. He now has eight home runs in his last eight games and has matched his home run total from a season ago.
