Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Deportivo La Coruña left back defender Filipe Luis (23) is expected to travel to Barcelona on Monday.

Barcelona believe that Filipe would be the answer to the problems which they are currently facing in the left back position. Currently, the squad has only one natural left back in Eric Abidal.

The player has also shown a lot of interest in signing for Barcelona. When asked if he thought he could play for Barcelona, Filipe said to El Mundo Deportivo,"I don't know. But every player wants to play at what is now the best club in the world that has won everything. I've played against them and I know how it feels to run after the ball without coming close. Playing football would be very different if I joined them."

Filipe also believes that a transfer to Barcelona would greatly bolster his chances of making the cut to the Brazilian national team in the near future.

It is believed that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain and Barcelona director of football Raúl Sanllehí and Deportivo president Augusto César Lendoiro will find a deal on the transfer in the coming days.

Filipe would then undergo the medical tests and sign a five-year contract on Monday and be presented the next day.
