With the NHL Draft tonight and the New York Islanders holding the number one overall there are a lot of talks about who they will take with it.

However, in my opinion there shouldn't even be a discussion for the Islanders' front office. John Tavares is one of if not the most talented player in the draft and maybe even more importantly, the man who can put people in the seats.

The Islanders had problems drawing fans this year and for good reason, they had just an awful team and traded away any player with remote leadership and talent to contenders.

With the rumors of the Islanders leaving Long Island, they need a player who will excite the fans and bring them back to Nassau Coliseum.

Victor Hedman might be the best fit being the best defender, and as we all know defense wins championships. But this pick must do something to bring the life back to this franchise.

Tavares can be the pure goal scorer the Islanders haven't had in years, in fact the last goal scorer they had you could argue was ZIGMUND PALFFY. Yea. That's how long it's been.

As an Islander fan I know that if Tavares is not picked and attendence and the team do not improve Long Island will soon have only one professional team.
