MIAMI—Alonzo Mourning is returning to the Miami Heat – as an executive.
Mourning announced Friday that he has been named Miami’s vice president of player development, and will begin the new job soon. Mourning will be involved with players in both on and off the court roles. He will also have community relations responsibilities.
Mourning, 39, retired from the Heat earlier this season and became the first player in franchise history to have his jersey retired.
