Today is June 26th, and my football countdown is in full swing.

I know starting in late July or August that football practice will start up. But that is still too far off for my own good. I search the Internet for anything football related, but that doesn't help.

I search the schedule of ESPN Classic for any replays of college football games. But now that isn't feeding my fix. The cold sweats are kicking in, I get the shakes...then it happens. I bust out with "The eyes of Texas" out of nowhere.

My poor wife is about ready to strangle me. She is sick and tired of hearing me ask "who do you think will be the winningest coach of all time?" or "do you think this is Joe Pa's final season?" I can see the look in her eye...it scares me.

But I can't help it—I am a college football junkie and I haven't had my fix since January. I can smell the fresh cut grass, can hear the bands playing, the crowd roaring and the pads crunching. Wait...that's not in my head, I really do hear it! But it's not on TV?

So I run outside, I swear it's at the stadium down the street from my house. Hallelujah! I do hear football! But alas, nothing there. So I walk back home dejected. I guess I just have to wait it out...Hopefully it will hurry, I need my college football fix!
