PORTLAND, OR - MARCH 21: JaJuan Johnson #25 of the Purdue Boilermakers is double-teammed by Jon Brockman #40 and Darnell Gant #44 of the Washington Huskies in the second half during the second round of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament at the Rose Garden on March 21, 2009 in Portland, Oregon. After my team—the Supersonics—was stripped off and sold like cattle to the 44th largest market in the United States, the Portland Trail Blazers have become my focal point of basketball interest.

I am thrilled to be able to report that the Blazers selected John Brockman with the 38th pick in the NBA Draft.

Brockman was a star for my rival University of Washington Huskies in college, but that does not mean I am ignorant in regards to his skill. He was a great basketball player who I have had conversations with and through them, I can tell he is a world class guy. He is going to become a star in the NBA.

Great move Blazers.

An NBA title is not too far away for the city of Portland with Brandon Roy turning into a superstar.

The move of picking up Brockman has helped push them closer.

Update

In a crushing news update it, was just announced Brockman will be moving further down the coast to the Sacramento Kings to join former teammate Spencer Hawes.

The Blazers get the draft rights for Jeff Pendergraph in exchange for Brockman and Sergio Rodriguez.
