The Rays offense finally packed a solid punch Wednesday to give them an 8-1 victory over their division rival Baltimore Orioles. Andy Sonnanstine got his 4th victory of the month of April going 8 strong innings. This win gives him a great shot to stay in the rotation with the return of Kazmir.

Eric Hinske finished April the same way he started with a home run to right. He has been the best hitter for the Rays thus far in the season. Dioner Navarro and BJ Upton added to the scoring with two hits a piece. Carlos Pena went 1-5 with 2 RBIs.
The Rubber match will take place tomorrow at 12:35 with Matt Garza squaring up against lefty Brian Burres. Garza will look to get his first win as a Ray.
With Boston beating Toronto tonight, Baltimore and Tampa Bay trail by 1 game in the east. New York and Toronto both lost ground to end the month of April.
