Late in tonight's game against the Detroit Tigers the New York Yankees announced that pitcher Phil Hughes was being placed on the 15 day disabled list, making him the third Yankee in as many days to be placed on the DL.

Hughes (Oblique), C Jorge Posada ( Shoulder), and 3B Alex Rodriguez were all placed on the 15 day DL in the last 3 days, causing worry in the Bronx. Reliever Brian Bruney is also out until at least August.

After their historic long road trip where they spent 18 out of 20 days on the road with only one off day in the season so far on top of these injuries, its starting to show that its taking a toll on the Yankee starters.
