Yahoo! Sports and ESPN are reporting that two league executives are saying that the New Jersey Nets have agreed in principal to trade away Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson to the Orlando Magic in exchange for the expiring contracts of Rafer Alston and Tony Battie along with rookie sensation Courtney Lee.

The deal as it stands now will not go through the league office, however talks of the trade might leave out Ryan Anderson or add another Orlando piece.

The Eastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic, if the deal goes through, will add much-needed improvement at the shooting guard position.

The eight-time all-star will be added to an already star-studded lineup consisting of Defensive player of the year Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, and possibly Hedo Turkoglu.

New Jersey uses this deal to shave off cap room. $40 million will be saved over the life of the contracts acquired.

The deal is said to be done by the end of Thursday.
