Local television captured incredible scenes on Thursday night as violence marred the Bulgarian Cup final.
According to Reuters (via Yahoo!), the match was delayed for over 17 minutes after Ludogorets scored the only goal of the encounter against Botev Plovdiv.
Firemen were needed on the pitch after flares rained down from the stands, thrown by Botev followers in their yellow and black.
A fire truck was then sent on the playing surface when the pitch at the Lazur Stadium in Burgas was set alight.
A number of Botev supporters later descended onto the pitch. The report states seats and stones were thrown at the players of double-winners Ludogorets close to the final whistle.
Ludogorets's co-owner, Georgi Domuschiev, was quoted in the same story. "It's a pity that such a big football game was marred by all these troubles in the second half," he said.
