After losing three consecutive games, the Los Angeles Kings battled back on Wednesday to force Game 7 in their second-round playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Kings took an early 2-0 series lead but the Ducks eventually regained the momentum, particularly when they inserted hot young rookie John Gibson into their lineup in goal.
Gibson will get his first taste of criticism after Game 6: the Kings' game-winning goal was a softie from Trevor Lewis that squeezed between his pads in the second period.
In a win-or-go-home situation, Los Angeles kicked up the energy as it did in the first round against the San Jose Sharks, playing a tight defensive game that limited the Ducks to just 22 shots in the game.
The series has been a hard-fought battle between two teams that show each other a great deal of respectn. Now, the season comes down to one game, on Friday in Anaheim.
Final score: Los Angeles Kings 2 - Anaheim Ducks 1
Series Tied 3-3
Game 7 Goes Friday in Anaheim
