Manu Tuilagi's involvement at the 2015 Rugby World Cup is looking more assured by the fixture, as the Leicester Tigers star continued to regain form this weekend, literally shoving his side past Saracens at Welford Road.

That was just one of several high-profile Aviva Premiership matches that took the big-hits spotlight this weekend, with teams noticeably making those extra efforts in the last week of the regular season.

Northampton Saints handed London Wasps an embarrassing 74-13 defeat at Franklin's Gardens in a matchup that featured hefty collisions from both camps.

Meanwhile, the final matches of this campaign's IRB Sevens World Series got underway down at Twickenham, with Carlin Isles showing off some of the tips he presumably picked up while training with Glasgow Warriors in his newer code.

There were darker scenes over in France, however, as the joyous occasion of the Top 14 playoff quarter-finals were marred by the head injury suffered by Toulouse's Florian Fritz.

The centre took a knee to the face and was left with a nasty gash in the first half of his side's encounter against Racing Metro, unbelievably playing on until the break before retiring at the halfway stage.

Super Rugby takes a backseat in this edition of our biggest hits, but it undoubtedly won't be long until the mammoths of the Southern Hemisphere are once again lighting each other up in titanic fashion for our amusement.

Of course, you can take our word for it, but you'd be much better off clicking the video above and checking out all the action for yourself.
