Ahh, The NBA Off-Season is one of my favorite times of the year. Hearing trade rumors of who's going where. I love Draft time, not because of picking players but because of the juicy trade rumors (Yes I'm a freak). Now big news has been spread immediately, so let's begin.

The Phoenix Suns trade Shaquille O'Neal for basically Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. The Suns get financial relief immediately if they can buyout Ben Wallace and they can cut Sasha Pavlovic's unguaranteed contract. This trade now proves that the Suns are going to rebuild and are not trying to contend for the near future. Instead the Suns will try to save money. Cleveland gets an 18 and 8 guy and a tough big man, something they needed against Orlando since Wallace was injury riddled and Žydrūnas Ilgauskas was to put it simply "soft". This could also help LeBron stay in Cleveland, key word is "could". If Shaq is healthy for a full season and playoffs then it can work, but we know Shaq is not exactly an "Iron man". The reality is that Cleveland to solidify them being the favorites for 2009-2010 they need to make another move in which knowing Danny Ferry, will. Phoenix has to feel some regret about how it has come to this and has nobody to blame but themselves, for trading Luol Deng, Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Rodriguez, and especially Rajon Rondo for cash. Now the Suns are irrelevant and a lottery for at least 2 more years. Expect for both teams to make more moves down the road.
