The experts over at Yahoo Sports! saw both good and bad in New York's draft.
They called Calvin Pryor the Jets' finest selections, saying the Louisville product is a "Rodney Harrison-like safety who could be a perfect fit for Rex Ryan and help add some teeth back into this unit."
However, the experts were not fond of Gang Green's first fourth-round selection, Jalen Saunders. They call him a "future No. 5 receiver and punt returner" and an "injury risk waiting to happen at 165 pounds."
In all, they saw the Jets draft as slightly above average, largely due to New York's early and late-round selections.
Yahoo Sports! comparison between Pryor and Harrison is a good one, as Pryor is a hard-hitting player who makes up for mistakes in coverage with big plays and toughness.
Nonetheless, I'm not as sold on Pryor as them. Yes, I believe he immediately upgrades the Jets defense, but I question his ability to handle big tight ends in coverage.
As for Saunders, I agree completely with their assessment.
With talented wideouts such as Martavis Bryant and Bruce Ellington still on the board, it was disheartening to see the Jets take a player whose size prohibits him from doing anything outside of contributing in the return game.
