The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Minnesota Wild by a 2-1 score to take a 3-2 series lead.
When Erik Haula scored on a fast break in the first period to put the Wild up 1-0, it looked like it was going to be another long night for Chicago.
But the Blackhawks answered on the power play in the second period on a Bryan Bickell tip shot. He tipped Patrick Kane's shot straight down between his legs and it beat Ilya Bryzgalov between his legs.
Jonathan Toews gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead that they would not relinquish in the third period after jamming in a puck into the goal that was sitting in the blue paint.
Corey Crawford looked shaky early on, but bounced back in a big-time way for the Hawks to help them secure the Game 5 victory. Minnesota, meanwhile, falls to 1-6 on the road in these playoffs.
The Blackhawks within one win of the Western Conference Final, while the Wild moved one win away from elimination.
