Miami Dolphins Undrafted Free Agents: Need-to-Know Info for Every Signee

The Dolphins draft started when offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James was selected 19th overall

Now that the 2014 NFL draft has concluded, the mad rush to sign the many quality undrafted free agents is underway.

But how did we get here?

In the first round, the Dolphins selected Tennessee offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James, who will start at right tackle. The talented lineman fits perfectly into the zone-blocking scheme that new offensive line coach John Benton is known for being a master of.

On Day 2, we saw the Dolphins continue to address the offense by taking LSU possession receiver Jarvis Landry and North Dakota State lineman Billy Turner. Each brings great passion and high character to the Dolphins, and I expect each to become fan favorites in time.

Day 3 was filled with small-school prospects, as I somewhat predicted in my final mock draft almost a week ago.

By adding Walt Aikens in the fourth round, Miami's secondary has a versatile defensive back who can develop into a quality starter.

Round 5 brought in two new Dolphins: tight end Arthur Lynch and linebacker Jordan Tripp. Lynch will be an instant contributor for Miami, bringing a new type of skill to the position. Tripp is an athletic project who needs development, but he could challenge for a starting spot in 2015.

Sixth-rounder Matt Hazel, from Coastal Carolina, will add immediate depth to the receiving core and could surprise fans in the fall if he gets on the field. His precise routes and great hands will lead to playing time.

Finally, the apple of an analytic eye, Terrence Fede was taken in the seventh round. A developmental player, Fede has the chance to learn from one of the top defensive line coaches in the NFL.

Without further ado, let's go into all of the undrafted free agents the Dolphins have signed.
