Over the past few weeks there have been many people bashing Andy Pettitte’s pitching performances. While browsing the internet  you can hear a lot of crazy things…I even heard a guy saying that the Yankees should release Andy because he isn’t bringing anything to the table. That is a complete joke. Wake up everyone!

Andy Pettitte can still pitch. The New Yankee Stadium has really killed him, but his pitching performances on the road have been terrific.

Just check the bolded numbers below and compare his home and away numbers. It’s actually shocking how much of a difference there is. He obviously hasn’t learned how to pitch at the new ballpark, and until he does that he will continue to struggle. Whether he alters what pitches he throws, or how he throws them..he needs to get that fixed.

Home: (W-L) 3-2  67H  32R  31ER  9HR  18BB  31K  5.77ERA  1.76WHIP  .332BAA

Away: (W-L) 4-1  29H  12R  10ER  2HR 15BB  26K  2.35ERA  1.15WHIP  .207BAA

The guy leads the team with seven wins, has an ERA in the mid 4’s, and has completed 7 innings or more in 5/14 starts. I’ll take that any day from a 5th starter!
