Kevin Durant scored 36 points, Russell Westbrook finished two rebounds shy of a triple-double and the Oklahoma City Thunder outlasted the Los Angeles Clippers, 118-112, at the Staples Center Friday night, taking a 2-1 lead in their second-round Western Conference playoff series.

The Thunder had to overcome incredible performances from the Clippers stars to win this game. Blake Griffin poured in 34 points and Chris Paul posted 21 points and 16 assists, but it wasn't enough for Los Angeles.

Oklahoma City received outstanding production from their bench, with both Caron Butler and Reggie Jackson tallying 14 points and playing pivotal roles in the fourth quarter. Butler buried three huge triples during the period, and Jackson made some key plays down the stretch.

This was the first game the Clippers lost all season when leading heading into the fourth quarter. They were 35-0 prior to Friday night, and they held a 90-86 edge going into the final period. However, the Thunder outscored LA by 10 over the last 12 minutes to steal Game 3 on the road.

OKC shot 55.7 percent from the floor and made 24 of its 28 free-throw attempts. It also outrebounded the Clippers 44-33, with Steven Adams leading the team with nine off the pine.

Los Angeles hit on 45.2 percent of its shots and only connected on seven of its 26 three-point tries.

Game 4 is 3:30 p.m. ET Sunday at the Staples Center.
